GROSSE POINT LIGHT, ILLINOIS
Order No. 183
Although there had been a lighthouse established in Chicago as
early as 1832, the Grosse Point Light was established in 1873 in
an area more visible to the many ships carrying lumber into Chicago.
The light is located on a bluff and the tower rises 113 feet. This
light was deactivated in 1935. It is made of brick encased in concrete
and it holds a second order Fresnel lens which was installed in
1874. The lighthouse and a museum is now owned and operated by the
City of Evanston/Lighthouse Park District. It is open to the public.
Stitch count: 69 stitches wide x 158 high.
Our model was stitched on a 11 x 16 piece of white
16-count AIDA fabric. This design can be adjusted to any type of
fabric. A large color photo, stitching instructions, computer generated
chart and floss numbers for your choice of DMC, Anchor & J&B
Coats are included.
